APC will redefine Enugu politics in 2019 – State chairman, Nwoye

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Enugu State chapter, has declared that it has the capacity to sack the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the State.

This is coming amidst massive defection of prominent PDP members to the party.

Chime had told journalists that PDP was dead and that it should be deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Speaking at Ngwo, Enugu North council area of the state, while receiving a PDP chieftain, Chief Uchenna Ozokwor, who joined the party, the state chairman of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye,‎ expressed optimism that going by the solid structures it had put in place in the 260 political wards of the state, it would sack the PDP-led government in 2019.

He declared: “PDP will be history in the next general election, because APC is going to re-write and redefine Enugu political history.

Nwoye, who described the new entrant as a true democrat and grass root mobiliser, urged him to endavour to win more souls for the APC in the locality, especially using the opportunity of the ongoing membership registration in the South-East.

The chairman also called on other politicians in the state, to embrace the APC as the party meant well for Enugu state and the South-East geo political zone.

Nwoye, who was accompanied to the event by some state principal officers of the party, and the South-East zonal publicity secretary, Chief Hycienth Ngwu, urged the people of the state and Nigeria at large to continue to support the president Muhammadu Buhari led APC federal government.

DAILY POST recalls that notable PDP stalwarts in Enugu State, such as, ex- senate president, Chief Ken Nnamani, former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, immediate past Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Eugene Odoh, former military governor of Gombe state, Group Captain Joe Orji, among others, have all dumped the PDP for the ruling APC.

Meanwhile, Nwoye disclosed few days ago that Chime, who hails from Udi Council Area of the State, was yet to register as a member of the party in his ward.
