Hafthor Bjornsson, who plays ‘The Mountain’ in TV show Game of Thrones and finished runner-up in World’s Strongest Man 2014, led the celebrations of Iceland’s 1-1 draw with Portugal on Tuesday evening.

He posted a picture on Instagram which showed him cheering after Birkir Bjarnason’s second-half equaliser. Before the match, the star had threatened Cristiano Ronaldo with a head-crushing if he defeated Bjornsson’s native country.”I have a message for Cristiano Ronaldo:

if you beat Iceland at Euro 2016, I will crush your head like I did to the Red Viper,” he said.Fortunately for Ronaldo’s skull, the match finished in a draw and Bjornsson was able to enjoy the result, as did Icelanders across the country.Fans gathered to watch the match at the Fan Zone in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, just metres away from the parliament building.

500 fans were there to watch the game on the big screen, which was a good turnout considering the population of the capital is just 120,000 and given that almost 20,000 had travelled to France to watch the match in person.
