Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard was formally introduced as the newest member of the Colorado Rapids on Tuesday afternoon at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

The 37-year-old was handed the No 1 jersey as he appeared in his first press conference with the club since signing a three-and-a-half-year deal in March.
Howard could make his Rapids debut as soon as Monday against the Portland Timbers having returned from action with the United States national team at the Copa America this month.

It has been a long year for the stopper, having played a full Premier League season before helping his team to the semi-finals of the Copa Centenario but he is eager to get started.
‘I’m going to be here for three-and-a-half years and it’s going to be a good journey,’ Howard said. ‘I’m excited about settling in, allowing Denver to be my home, and becoming a part of the culture, the community, not just the team.’
