Don Jazzy, the CEO of Mavin Records, has revealed that despite having the means, he has no intention of buying a private jet, prioritising responsibility and investment over fleeting luxury.
Speaking in an interview with YouTuber Habby Forex, the music mogul also advised young people on prudent financial management. He urged them to curb spending on non-essentials, a principle he embodies.
What I would advise young people who are making money is to cut costs on irrelevant things. Most young people I see spend money on things they don’t need, he said.
I have been blessed for a long time, and I can afford any type of car I want, even a private jet, but I have more important responsibilities. I have people to take care of.
The music producer placed a strong emphasis on the power of investment, both in financial markets and, more importantly, in one’s own capabilities.
Nothing beats investment, different types, including investing in yourself by acquiring knowledge. Don’t be useless; go and acquire a skill. Start small, earn something, use the money wisely, and grow your brand, he added.
I had a Land Cruiser at some point, and I used it for about six years. I just kept changing the colour and upgrading it.
