Ibrahimovic defends himself after Lukaku incident: In my world there’s no room for racism

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been quick to hit back at accusations of racism relating to comments he made towards Romelu Lukaku during AC Milan’s Coppa Italia defeat to Inter on Tuesday night.

The pair were both booked as they locked horns and exchanged insults on the pitch, and one comment from Zlatan has been attracting particular attention.

“Call your mother, do your voodoo shit,” Ibrahimovic is alleged to have said to Lukaku.

The voodoo reference sparked suggestions of racism, but the Swedish forward has been swift to rubbish that notion.

In Zlatan‘s world, there is no room for racism,” Ibrahimovic posted in an Instagram post.

“We are all one race. We are all equal. We are all footballers, some better than others.”

Ibrahimovic posted the message alongside a viral video clip in which two young boys, one black and one white, are seen hugging each other.
