Garwa, whose name features among Nigeria’s 19 most-wanted terrorists, surfaced in Hayin Gada community, Faskari Local Government Area, presenting himself as an advocate of dialogue.

The bandit leader, originally from Kamfanin Daudawa village in Faskari LGA, has been linked to killings, kidnappings, and raids across Katsina and neighbouring states.

Security experts also identify him as part of the armed network destabilising the North-West and North Central.

Makama reports that Garwa’s sudden posture has divided opinion. While some locals see it as a chance to restore calm, others question his sincerity, recalling the atrocities blamed on his gang.
