In a recent interview on WBLS FM, the singer attributed her current single status not to a lack of desire for partnership, but to a discerning standard.

Tamar stressed that she sees herself as a wife, not a streetwalker and that all she desires is a good man.

The singer revealed that the men she has encountered lately are regular and have not aligned with what she is looking for.

She also expressed optimism while disclosing that she prays regularly to meet her future partner.

I am a wife. I am not a streetwalker. I am upset that I am still single. What’s going on? Tamar asked.

I think the only reason I am still single is that I haven’t met the right guy. I accept only premium men, but lately I have been meeting only regular ones. All I want is a good man. That’s my type.

I know there is someone out there for me, and I pray for him all the time. I would say, ‘Thank you, God, for bringing him to me.’ He is amazing, beautiful, wonderful, generous, and kind.

Braxton has been married twice. In 2001, she married her first husband Darrell ‘Delite’ Allamby, but the union ended in divorce two years later.

She later married music executive Vincent Herbert in 2008, and they share a son. Braxton filed for divorce in 2017, citing irreconcilable differences.

In 2018, she began dating Nigerian financial advisor David Adefeso. However, their relationship ended controversially in 2020 when Adefeso filed a restraining order against her, alleging domestic violence.

Braxton also accused Adefeso of threatening to kill her during an altercation between them.
