A 59-year- old farmer, AbdulGaniu Mohammed was Tuesday sent to the custodian facility for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), one AbdulGafar Mohammed reported that the defendant allegedly defiled his younger sister.
The defendant allegedly inserted his finger into the victim’s private part, claiming he wanted to know the cause of her bed-wetting.
Gidipoint reports that the defendant allegedly took undue advantage of the victim and deceitfully had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
The prosecutor, Zacchaeus Folorunsho, informed the court that the case was not ordinarily bailable.
He further argued that granting the defendant bail would hamper the course of justice.
Trial Magistrate Muhammad Dansuki, who presided over the matter, ordered the remand of the defendant in the Correctional facility while the matter was adjourned till the 6th of June,2022.
