Ike Ekweremadu of the Peoples Democratic Party has emerged the deputy Senate President after beating Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of the All Progressives Congress in an election held at the National Assembly today.
Ekweremadu polled 54 votes as against Ndume’s 20 votes with one invalid vote. He has been declared deputy senator of the 8th Assembly.
