Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended Global Citizen for selecting Lagos as a key destination for its ‘Move Afrika’ concert series.
Speaking at the event headlined by John Legend on Victoria Island, Sanwo-Olu described Lagos as Africa’s most vibrant city and praised the initiative’s mission to drive economic investment, job creation, and entrepreneurship across the continent.
“‘Move Afrika’ is more than just a concert; it is a movement and a call to action for global citizens to unite in tackling pressing challenges like poverty, inequality, climate change, and access to education,” he said.
The concert is part of Global Citizen’s effort to build a long-term music touring circuit in Africa while creating opportunities for the continent’s emerging generations.
