Flamboyant Lagos nightlife personality Pretty Mike has revealed he pulled the plug on his signature dramatic entrance at Priscilla Ojo’s high-profile wedding—and it was all thanks to a heartfelt intervention from the bride’s family.
Known for his outrageous event stunts, including his recent zombie-themed appearance at Obi Cubana’s party (a controversial nod to the Plateau State massacre), Pretty Mike had initially planned to “bring the heat” to Priscilla’s big day. In fact, the bride herself encouraged it.
But her mother, actress Iyabo Ojo, and her partner, Paulo Okoye, weren’t having it. Concerned about possibly unsettling their Tanzanian in-laws, they made a personal appeal for Mike to “tone it down.”
Taking to Instagram, Pretty Mike shared:
“My sister, the bride @its.priscy said I should bring the heat… The bride’s mother @iyaboojofespris saw me some days back and begged me not to come in a weird way, that her in-laws think she is wacko enough.
Bride’s mother’s sugar daddy aka Obim @pauloo2104 called and asked me to tone it down small, but I should still give them a show.”
He cheekily added:
“Dear Tanzania in-laws, you did not just marry our sister and daughter; you married an entire nation. You will have to take us as we come…”
The social media reaction? Classic Naija mix of laughter, support, and spicy takes:
- “Pretty Mike has sense when he wants to. This was respectful.”
- “Low-key glad he didn’t come with flying dragons this time 😂”
- “Tanzania, welcome to our madness… we’re colorful like that.”
