Nigeria’s Super Falcons secured a convincing 2-0 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a friendly match on Tuesday night at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Team captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, was the star of the night, netting a first-half brace to seal the win.
She opened the scoring in the 28th minute from the penalty spot before adding a second in the 43rd minute, latching onto a precise pass from Omorinsola Babajide and finishing with composure.
Despite the Super Falcons‘ dominance, the second half saw no additional goals, with Cameroon tightening their defence.
The visitors nearly pulled one back in the 87th minute, but Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie produced a brilliant save to maintain the clean sheet.
The friendly served as a crucial warm-up for both sides ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where Nigeria and Cameroon are considered strong title contenders.
