The confirmation follows recent public confusion regarding the actor’s legal status.

Last week, fellow actor Yomi Fabiyi claimed that Baba Ijesha had been released after an appellate court overturned his conviction.

However, the Lagos state government firmly refuted the claim. Lawal Pedro, the state’s attorney-general and commissioner for justice, labelled Fabiyi’s reports as false, misleading, and irresponsible.

He expressed shock at the social media posts alleging exoneration, stating unequivocally, No such clearance occurred at any stage of the judicial process.

The DSVA issued a short statement to settle the debate on whether Baba Ijesha would be formally registered as a sex offender.

Citing Section 37 of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency Law, 2021, the agency confirmed that his name has been entered into the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register.

The agency stated that this action reinforces its commitment to protecting minors, strengthening accountability, and ensuring that accurate information is available to the public.

In line with Section 37 of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency Law 2021, his name has been duly entered into the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register, the statement reads.

This measure supports ongoing efforts to protect minors, strengthen accountability and ensure that accurate information is available to the public.
