Vivian Nkwiruka, the wife of popular Nollywood actor and media personality Nwaogu Udochukwu Victor (famously known as Nkubi), has sent shockwaves through social media after revealing the disturbing advice she received from a medical professional regarding her pregnancy.
In a recent interview with Pulse, Nkwiruka detailed an encounter where a doctor questioned her decision to conceive with her husband, citing his dwarfism as a reason to seek alternative biological fathers.
According to Nkwiruka, the consultation turned sour when the doctor realized her husband had a trait of dwarfism. Rather than offering medical guidance, the physician allegedly suggested she should have looked elsewhere to ensure her child did not inherit the condition.
The doctor said why didn’t you go to your brother-in-law, or outside to get pregnant, instead of getting pregnant for your husband. Or even get a sperm donor, that’s what a doctor told me, Nkwiruka shared during the interview.
The doctor reportedly asked if dwarfism ran in her family, to which she proudly identified her husband. The suggestion to use her brother-in-law or an external donor has been widely condemned by the public as insensitive and highly unprofessional.
Nkubi, a veteran in the Nigerian entertainment space known for his comedic timing and roles in hit series like The Johnsons, has long been a favourite among viewers.
