Kenneth Okonkwo has strongly criticized politicians affiliated with the City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth-driven group supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. He described these politicians as political scavengers motivated by self-interest rather than genuine support.

During an interview on Symfoni TV, Okonkwo accused CBM members of supporting Tinubu for personal gain, comparing their behavior to scavenging for scraps from the president’s table. They are scavenging on crumbs that fall from Tinubu’s table, he said, emphasizing that such actions are dishonorable.

He further stated, The Igbo have rejected them. It is an insult to Ndigbo. We wear our Isiagu because we hunt for our food with dignity, like lions, and eat fresh meat.

Okonkwo also likened the politicians endorsing Tinubu to vultures, stressing that he values dignity over political favoritism. We don’t scavenge like vultures. Those politicians who allegedly endorsed Tinubu are political scavengers, scavenging from rotten crumbs that fall from Tinubu’s table, he said.

He added, They are political children drinking from the feeding bottle of Tinubu. I am Igbo; I would rather die in dignity than scavenge from the rotten crumbs that fall from Tinubu’s table.

Okonkwo concluded by affirming his commitment to self-reliance: Throughout my life, I have relied on my talent and skills to earn my living. I will never scavenge for rotten crumbs. Those people who claim to have endorsed Tinubu are not genuine Igbo people; they are Tinubu’s slaves.
