Inter Slip in Serie A Title Race as Milan and Juve Draw

Inter Milan’s march towards the Serie A title hit a minor snag on Sunday as they squandered a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 at Torino. Meanwhile, a goalless clash between AC Milan and Juventus kept the race for Champions League qualification wide open.

Inter seemed poised for a comfortable win in Turin after Marcus Thuram and Yann Bisseck each scored with headers, putting them two goals up just past the hour mark. However, Giovanni Simeone reignited Torino’s hopes in the 70th minute with a clever finish over Yann Sommer, and Nikola Vlasic converted a penalty nine minutes later to level the score.

“You think everything is easy and under control when you’re two goals ahead,” admitted Inter coach Cristian Chivu. “But then you concede due to a mistake playing out from the back, nerves set in. Honestly, it could have been worse.”

Despite the setback, Inter remain firmly on course for a 21st league title and can claim the Scudetto by beating Parma at San Siro next weekend. With four matches remaining, they sit 10 points clear of last year’s champions Napoli. Inter are also chasing a domestic double after a dramatic comeback victory over Como in the Italian Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

San Siro Stalemate Leaves Champions League Spots Up for Grabs

The battle for a top-four finish remains tense after AC Milan and Juventus played out a drab 0-0 draw at San Siro. Juventus, now fourth, hold a three-point cushion over both Como—who beat Genoa 2-0 earlier on Sunday—and sixth-placed Roma. Milan, in third, are three points ahead of Juve and look well-placed to return to the Champions League after missing out this season.

The match unfolded before a passionate crowd, with Milan’s ultras protesting skyrocketing ticket prices. Supporters lit up “€139” with phone torches—the new price for seats behind the goal—accompanied by a banner calling for “fairer, working-class football.” Fans also voiced anger at what they called “legalised touting,” where supporters are encouraged to resell their season tickets via the club’s platform for a partial voucher.

On the pitch, chances were scarce. Khephren Thuram thought he had put Juve ahead in the 36th minute, only for his effort to be ruled offside. Francisco Conceicao and Alexis Saelemaekers both squandered opportunities, with the latter rattling the crossbar. In stoppage time, Dusan Vlahovic nearly snatched victory for Juve, but Mike Maignan kept his low shot out with his boot, capping a forgettable contest.
