Etinosa Idemudia criticizes insincere celebrity tributes.

Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has condemned the act of sharing private messages and emotional tributes only after someone’s death.

Speaking on the BTC Podcast, Etinosa criticised the tendency for people to post unreplied direct messages and tributes as a way of expressing regret, especially when such messages were ignored while the person was alive.

She pointed out that many colleagues and movie producers often overlook requests to collaborate or communicate, only to later post heartfelt messages online after a person’s passing.

In her words: “All those people who post people’s DMs when they are dead, if you post my DM, I’ll wake up, slap you, and go back to the grave. Don’t try it. DM that you didn’t reply, my enemy will die now. If you try it and post that ‘Oh, we should have worked together, I was looking forward to working with you,’ what I will do to you in your dream, you wouldn’t believe it.”

Etinosa’s comments follow the recent passing of popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, which sparked a wave of celebrities and friends sharing their last conversations and memories of him online.
