Federal Government Launches Legal Action Against ‘Justice Crack’ Over Alleged Cybercrime

The Federal Government has begun presenting its case against social media influencer Justice Chidiebere, widely known as “Justice Crack,” who faces an amended three-count charge alleging cybercrime and felony.

Chidiebere appeared before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik at the Federal High Court in Abuja and entered a plea of not guilty.

After the plea, the prosecution called its first witness, Oronto Douglas, who continued his testimony. Douglas informed the court that both audio and video recordings of Chidiebere’s interview had been saved to a flash drive, and he had signed a certificate of compliance for the evidence.

The defense counsel requested that the bail conditions previously granted to Chidiebere remain in place. The prosecution did not object, and the court approved the request.

Justice Abdulmalik adjourned the case to September 28 to allow the prosecution to obtain approval from the head of the court’s IT department, following an earlier request to the Deputy Chief Registrar, for the viewing of forensic evidence.
