Henry Okoye, the eldest brother of the former music duo P-Square, has voiced skepticism over the likelihood of reconciliation between his younger twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye. He believes that their longstanding feud may have caused lasting damage to their relationship.
In an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at their father’s home in Plateau State on Friday, Henry discussed the latest crisis involving the Okoye brothers. He acknowledged Peter’s efforts to mend fences but expressed doubt that the twins could ever restore their once-close bond.
Despite his reservations, Henry appealed to Paul to end the rift with Peter, recalling how Peter supported Paul during a period of illness. “Peter is trying. I don’t know if Jude used juju on Paul because he used to be the nicest person in the family. But his change in behavior is surprising. I’ve watched all of Peter’s accounts of what happened,” he said.
Henry further alleged that the family’s elder brother, Jude, played a divisive role, referencing a broken promise about sharing early earnings from P-Square. “They promised me 20 percent when they started making money, but Jude intervened and dismissed that. I challenged him because he wasn’t there at the beginning, but now he’s pushing everyone away,” Henry stated.
Reflecting on his hopes for reconciliation, Henry said, “I would be happy to see them reunite, but I don’t think it will happen. Paul was a very kind person.”
He also recounted a financial dispute following the death of Peter’s father-in-law, when Peter directed him to Jude for money owed. “I want the family to come back together. I’ve tried my best. Even Shehu Dantata spoke to them, but they didn’t listen,” he added, urging Jude to help resolve the family conflict.
Henry’s remarks follow years of strife among the brothers that led to P-Square’s 2017 split. Although Peter and Paul reconciled in 2021, the peace did not last, with another fallout occurring in 2024.
The latest dispute escalated after Peter accused Paul of colluding with Jude to undermine him and raised concerns about P-Square’s finances. Peter also alleged that Northside Music Limited, a company linked to Jude and his wife, was receiving royalties meant for P-Square. Paul, however, defended Jude and blamed Peter for the family’s legal troubles.
In February 2025, Paul publicly declared his support for Jude, stating he believed Jude knew the truth and that Peter was responsible for Jude’s legal ordeal. Jude was later arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on charges involving large sums of money but pleaded not guilty. Peter testified against Jude, alleging that Jude had secretly set up Northside Music Limited to collect the group’s royalties.
The legal battle over finances remains unresolved. During cross-examination in February 2026, Peter admitted he was a co-signatory to the Northside Entertainment Limited account, contradicting his earlier claims that Jude was the sole signatory.
The family discord has played out in public, with Peter and Paul making conflicting statements about their relationship and Jude’s involvement in P-Square’s breakup.
Henry’s recent comments mark another effort by a family member to encourage reconciliation. Despite the deep-rooted conflict, he expressed forgiveness towards his siblings and urged them to move past the longstanding dispute.
