Pelumi Olajengbesi, the official spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, has hailed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the Osun State governorship election as an act of divine providence and a true reflection of the people’s will.
Speaking shortly after the results were announced, Olajengbesi emphasized that the outcome reaffirmed Adeleke as the popular choice among Osun State’s citizens.
“I am overjoyed. This is the Lord’s doing—a clear sign of God’s hand and the will of the people of Osun State,” he declared.
Olajengbesi noted that the election results were a testament to Adeleke’s effective leadership and the renewed confidence the electorate has placed in him. “This election has shown, beyond doubt, that Governor Ademola Adeleke is a man of the people. It confirms the governor’s outstanding performance in office, and the people have renewed his mandate by re-electing him,” he said.
He also alleged that Adeleke faced significant intimidation and harassment during the campaign, yet triumphed in spite of what he described as the “reckless use of power and abuse of institutions.”
“We are truly delighted and deeply grateful,” Olajengbesi added.
He further remarked that Adeleke’s unwavering faith and confidence throughout the campaign had been vindicated by the outcome. “Importantly, Governor Adeleke remained confident and steadfast, placing his trust in God throughout the campaign. This victory was assured,” he stated.
Olajengbesi concluded that the result demonstrated the determination of Osun State’s people to elect a leader genuinely committed to their service.
At the INEC collation centre in Osogbo, Returning Officer Joshua Ogunwole officially declared Adeleke the winner early Sunday morning. Running on the Accord Party platform after leaving the PDP in December 2025, Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, who garnered 444,815 votes. Najeem Salaam of the ADC followed with 17,180 votes.
Out of the 1,010,684 accredited voters, a total of 1,005,800 votes were cast across Osun’s 30 local government areas, with 985,079 deemed valid. The election, which saw 15 parties contesting, was marked by months of intense campaigning and heightened security across the state.
Adeleke’s win ensures a second term for the governor, who first assumed office in 2022 on the PDP ticket before his defection to the Accord Party.
