Everton Reach Agreement to Sign Folarin Balogun from Monaco

Everton have reportedly reached an agreement to sign United States striker Folarin Balogun from Monaco in a transfer worth £40 million ($54 million).

The move could see the 25-year-old return to the Premier League, three years after departing Arsenal for Monaco in a £35 million deal, if completed before Tuesday’s 2200 GMT deadline.

Everton still need to finalize personal terms with Balogun and complete his medical before making the transfer official.

Balogun’s performances for the US national team at the recent World Cup drew significant attention and sparked controversy. He was initially banned for the last-16 match against Belgium following a red card in the previous round against Bosnia, but the suspension was overturned after intervention from US President Donald Trump.

Born in New York, Balogun moved to London as a child and developed through Arsenal’s youth academy. During his time at Monaco, he scored 31 goals in 91 appearances and represented the club in the Champions League.
