South African athlete, Oscar Pistorius, who was convicted of a murder charge, has been granted bail.

Oscar Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp two years ago and was only found guilty by a court of culpable homicide for which he was sentenced to just five years.
An appeal at a superior court overturned Pistorius’s conviction, finding him guilty of murder instead.
Pistorius’s bail request has been granted pending his sentencing with his bail set at 10,00 Rand.
He is expected to remain under house arrest till his sentencing which will take place next year. He is facing up to 15 years in jail.
However, Pistorius is expected to appeal his murder conviction at the Constitutional Court.
