Future strikes back. The Purple Reign rapper has filed a countersuit against his ex Ciara and her $15 million defamation lawsuit.
In the suit, obtained by The Jasmine Brand, Future claims he couldn’t ruin Ciara’s rep because she doesn’t currently have one. His countersuit calls the singer’s fanbase “reasonably large,” but also claims her 2015 album Jackie was a “flop.” Furthermore, he says she hasn’t won many awards since 2013.
Speaking of awards, Ciara is set to host this year’s Billboard Music Awards with Ludacris. While announcing this year’s finalists, CiCi made an obvious omission of Future’s name, forcing her co-host to say it for her.

In her defamation suit, Ciara claims that Future made unflattering comments about her in his music, on social media, and in interviews. He responded, saying he’s been criticized as well and that he hasn’t been allowed to see his son Future.
Future is asking that the court stop Ciara from talking about him in public and that she cover his legal fees.
