Sampling D’Angelo’s “Lady,” Folarin provides words of encouragement, appreciation, and pride. “Black is beautiful baby, black is bold,” he raps. “Black is black, true, but black is gold.”

Featuring shoutouts to Viola Davis, Shonda Rhimes, Issa Rae, and Lupita Nyong’o, among others, the track becomes an anthem that celebrates beauty.

“This is for every beautiful queen listening that may sometimes think we forget you due to this bullshit system,” he says. “This for every India.Arie, young Justine Skye, and please don’t go cut out on the smile, young SZA. Let’s celebrate the awesomeness that is our sisters. My affinity is infinity and I wish you everything that give you better energy.
