LAUTECH: Oyo, Osun meet to resolve 7-month-old strike

There are clear indications that the seven-month old industrial action embarked upon by both the academic and non academic unions of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso will soon be over.

It was gathered that the proprietors of the institution met in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Wednesday to discuss possible ways of resolving the perennial crisis, which has been rocking the institution jointly owned by the two states.

A close source at the meeting informed journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Thursday that “some issues bothering on the crises rocking the institutions were discussed as well.”

The source who begged not to be named maintained that the “emergency meeting” may not be unconnected with a planned protests by a group of students who vowed to hold both states to ransom, in a rally billed to take place in Ibadan and Osogbo respectively on Monday 9th January.

He said this propelled the two states to call a meeting to avert the rally.
