As ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ continues making a lot of money in the box office, there are some who still want to remind people of the Tom Cruise’s religion. Those who are aware of the Church of Scientology can tell you that we are looking at a cult-like religion with odd ideas and questionable practices.
Tom Cruise is the main face of the Scientology religion, he has been for many decades and appeared in many interviews defending it. There are some historical confrontations he’s had to deal with in the past, but people seems to have recently forgotten what Scientology is all about. Actress Leah Remini wanted to remind people so they don’t support Tom Cruise’s film.
Who is Leah Remini?
Better known for her co-star role in the hit sitcom ‘Kings of Queens‘, Leah Remini joined the Church of Scientology only to go rogue and then denounce the religion for crimes against humanity. In the past, this church has been accused of a number of illegal activities such as human trafficking or forced mass abortions.
Remini maintains that Tom Cruise is well aware of these practices and chooses to look the other way. For years, the actress has appeared in many podcasts or shows where she describes the terrible experiences she endured when she was part of this cult-like religion.

Remini retweeted a large post from another former Scientologist who is denouncing all of these crimes. But this religion and Tom Cruise’s films are two entirely separate things, people shouldn’t feel guilty over liking an instant classic such as ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘.
At this point, getting the absolute truth from either side in this dispute becomes almost impossible. All we know is that Tom Cruise is part of this religion but we also know he is one of the most important film producers of the last 50 years. It’s all a matter of learning to separate the art from the artist.
