American actress Amanda Peet has shared details about her recent health journey, disclosing that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In an essay published in The New Yorker on Saturday, the 54-year-old actress reflected on how the diagnosis has prompted her to prioritize her well-being. Peet mentioned that she had long been aware of the particularities of her breasts, having been advised to keep a close watch on them.
For years, I’ve been told that I have dense and busy breasts—not as a compliment, but as a warning that they would require extra monitoring, she explained, adding that she had been seeing a breast surgeon every six months for checkups.
Peet revealed that the diagnosis came in August 2025 after a tumor was discovered.
