Arsenal 2-1 MLS All-Stars

36AF8D4600000578-0-image-a-10_1469755332577Him again. Always him. For a decade, whether it was in Chelsea blue or the maroon and yellow stripes of Galatasaray, there was only one outcome when Didier Drogba stood in front of an Arsenal defence: he would score.

Here he was once more. Representing MLS All-Stars, it made no difference that Drogba’s career is now twinkling in the twilight, up he popped on the stroke of half-time to guide a shot in from six yards to halt Arsenal in their tracks.
This time, though, it wasn’t fatal. Drogba might have shovelled pain onto Arsene Wenger but he couldn’t derail him completely here in San Jose with Arsenal recording their first victory of pre-season, as a penalty from Joel Campbell and a late tap in from Chuba Akpom saw off the MLS All-Stars.
