West Midlands police reported that they have arrested a 12-year-old boy who would be the alleged author of these messages.
Zaha participated this Sunday in the Palace’s 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa.
This incident comes days after the Premier League put in place a protection system for footballers and their families when they receive insults and threats through social networks.
“This is an absolute disgrace and should not occur. We are with you, Wilf, and with anyone who has to suffer the abuse of this kind,” Crystal Palace said in a statement.
