CAF Champions League: Enyimba lose to Mamelodi Sundowns

Enyimba are yet to win a single game in this year’s CAF Champions League group stages after Match Day 2, after they were beaten 2-1 by Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday night.

The Nigerian champions lost their first game 2-1 to Zamalek in Port Harcourt and were looking forward to kickstart their campaign in South Africa.

Leonardo Castro gave the home side the lead three minutes before half time. Enyimba equalized in the 59th minute, but Wayne Arendse got Sundowns’ winner in the 78th minute.

Enyimba have zero points from two matches, while Sundowns now have three points after Entente Setif were disqualified by CAF.
