Chioma Adeleke, the wife of Afrobeats singer Davido, has ended her three-year Instagram silence with a poignant tribute to their late son Ifeanyi.
Ifeanyi passed away on October 30, 2022, after drowning in a swimming pool at Davido’s residence in Lagos’ upscale Banana Island neighborhood.
Chioma’s post, shared following her recent white wedding ceremony with Davido, featured a photograph of her wedding bouquet.
Attached to it was a picture of Ifeanyi, a symbol of his presence on her walk down the aisle.
The image was accompanied by an emotional caption in which she honoured her late son as her best friend” and the eternal place he holds in her heart.
My best friend walked me into forever. Ify you’re on my mind everyday and you live in my heart always and forever. Love mummy, she wrote.
This marks Chioma’s first post on the platform since October 20, 2022, when she shared a celebration for what would have been Ifeanyi’s third birthday.
Davido also recently revealed how the loss of Ifeanyi inspired him to become a better person.
The singer proposed to Chioma in 2019, but their relationship faced challenges in 2021 amid allegations that the singer was involved in another relationship.
However, in March 2023, the singer disclosed that he and Chioma had officially married.
The couple welcomed twins in the US in October 2023. They held their traditional wedding in June 2024.
