Crystal Palace have confirmed the £9.5million arrival of Cheikhou Kouyate from West Ham as Roy Hodgson steps up his recruitment drive.
The 28-year-old midfielder’s move from West Ham was confirmed on Wednesday night. The transfer is worth an initial £9.5m.
Speaking to Crystal Palace’s website, he said: ‘I’m so happy. It’s been a long day but now everything is good and I’m very excited to start with my new teammates.

This is the right time to move because I needed a new challenge. I have good memories of West Ham but I need to come here and give my best because I like the Crystal Palace project.’
Swansea forward Jordan Ayew is also scheduled for a medical after Palace agreed a deal that will involve midfielder Jairo Riedewald moving in the opposite direction.
However, Riedewald is still to be convinced that a move to Swansea in the Championship suits him.
