Barcelona sporting director Deco has denied Jorge Mendes’ claim that Lamine Yamal’s contract renewal was discussed during their recent meeting in Lisbon.
Mendes had suggested that talks took place regarding the 16-year-old’s long-term future at Camp Nou, but Deco refuted this, stating, “We didn’t talk about Lamine’s renewal. We are not going to discuss it with 20 people at the table. He enjoys himself here and is happy.”
Despite his current deal running until 2026, Barca is expected to secure a long-term extension before summer. Yamal, who played 55 minutes in the Champions League against Benfica, will now focus on Barcelona’s upcoming clash with Osasuna.
