Ed Sheeran headlines on the Pyramid Stage during day 4 of the Glastonbury Festival 2017 at Worthy Farm, Pilton on June 25, 2017 in Glastonbury, England.
Fans didn’t have to wait long to see Ed Sheeran’s anticipated Game of Thrones cameo. He appeared on the HBO show’s season seven premiere Sunday night (July 16) — and his guest spot even featured some music.
“For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman’s hands are warm,” Sheeran’s character — one of a group of traveling soldiers previously stationed in King’s Landing — sang.
That’s a pretty song. I’ve never heard it before,” commented Arya Stark (played by actress Maisie Williams, who’s a fan of Sheeran). “It’s a new one,” he told her.
In an interview with Billboard, GoT composer Ramin Djawadi teased the moment: “It’s pretty cool. He sings a piece that I wrote with lyrics that came from the book.”
