Eder goal againt France wins British man €1.2m bet

Eder’s extra time goal on Sunday evening may have won Euro 2016 for Portugal, but it also won €1.2 million for one very lucky man in the UK.

Although the unnamed man did not correctly predict the exact minute of the match-winning strike, his guess of an Eder winner in the 84th minute was the closest and, as such, he took home the winnings of a competition run by Bet Victor.The 32-year-old had gone missing in the aftermath of the big match and, in order to find him, a campaign was launched on social media using the hashtag #MissingMillionaire.It worked, as he was quickly tracked down on holiday with his family.With a €1.2m prize coming his way, the winner’s work colleagues may not be expecting him to return from holiday.
