Ashley Williams has revealed the lure of working with Ronald Koeman was impossible to ignore as he arrived to kick-start a flurry of transfer activity for Everton.

The Wales international arrived on Merseyside on Tuesday and completed his medical at the club’s Finch Farm training ground, with Everton having agreed a £9million deal with Swansea; Williams has signed a three-year contract.

He will be followed in shortly by Yannick Bolasie, with Everton confident of completing a deal that would see them pay Crystal Palace £25million for the winger. Bolasie is yet to be given permission to travel to undergo his medical.

Ronald Koeman has been reshaping his squad following the £50million sale of John Stones to Manchester City and Everton are aiming to conclude an £18million move for Sunderland’s Lamine Kone but that deal could drag into next week.
Sunderland had enquired about Phil Jagielka as being a potential replacement for Kone, whom they only bought in January, but he is not keen on moving to the Stadium of Light and Everton have no intention of selling their club captain, who is fit again after hamstring trouble.
Everton’s manager is also looking for a striker but Wilfried Bony, who has been made available by Manchester City, is understood not to be a target.
