Samklef, the producer behind Wizkid’s hit song Tease Me, has shared how the track came together during his first ever studio session with the singer.
In a recent video, Samklef recalled that Wizkid already knew the kind of sound he wanted. He said he wanted an old-school reggae feel, and I wanted something really sweet, Samklef said.
As soon as Samklef heard Wizkid’s idea, inspiration struck. Something came to my mind and that was how… Baby, I love the way you whine it. That was the first verse done, he said.
However, the second verse didn’t come to him immediately. So he reached out to Banky W to help. I called him, and he said okay, okay, Samklef recalled.
Tease Me went on to become one of Wizkid’s biggest hits from his debut album Superstar, released in 2011.
The producer said he immediately felt a strong connection with Wizkid during that first session, impressed by his energy and creative vision.
