Barcelona captain Lionel Messi will compete against Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and new Real Madrid signing Eden Hazard for the men’s prize at the 2019 Best Fifa Football Awards.
The list of the candidates for the accolade also includes the names of the new Blaugrana midfielder Frenkie de Jong, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, Paris Saint-Germain prodigy Kylian Mbappe and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The Champions League title holders have as many as three nominees in Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Sadio Mane, while the winner of last season’s award Luka Modric is not among the candidates this year and neither are Antoine Griezmann or Neymar.

The top scorer and best player of the 2019 Women’s World Cup Megan Rapinoestands out between the candidates for this season’s women’s prize in the Best Fifa Football Awards.
Her USA teammate Alex Morgan is also in the list alongside Barcelona player Caroline Graham Hansen.
