Iwobi ‘devastated’ after Arsenal stop him from 2016 Olympics

Alex Iwobi is ‘devastated’ after Arsenal decided that he will not play for Nigeria at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.
According to AfricanFootball, a source close to the player, confirms that Arsene Wenger wants the midfielder to start the season with the Gunners.

The source said: “Arsenal have taken a decision on Alex, he will not be going to the Olympics with Nigeria.

“The boy himself is very disappointed because he wanted to be in Rio, but Arsenal have the final say on this matter because the competition is not on the FIFA calendar. They want him to start the new season with them.”
