Kelis says Beyoncé has ‘no soul’ for using sample without permission

Beyoncé is being criticized by the singer Kelis for allegedly using an uncredited sample from her 2000 song “Get Along With You” on the “Renaissance” album.

The singer of “Milkshake” claims that she learned about the sample on Bey’s song “Energy” before anyone else on social media.

In the song Beyoncé sings, “You won’t break my soul,” Kelis says that maybe because she doesn’t have one.

In a comment on an Instagram fan page, Kelis stated that ” some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled.”

Kelis posted the remark using her cooking blog’s account “@BountyAndFull”, which at first praised the 42-year-old for appearing on Beyonce’s album.

A rift between the two singers
While some commenters suggested Kelis should “admire” the 28-time Grammy Award winner for including her on the “Renaissance” album, Kelis responded that “admire” is not the right word.

My mind is blown too because of the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved,” said Kelis.

Beyoncé did give Kelis credit for a song, but she felt that wasn’t enough. It’s theft, not a collaboration, according to Kelis.
