Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé has continued his sports investment spree, branching out into sailing as he becomes an associate with the France SailGP Team.
Mbappé’s ‘Inspired by KM’ (IBKM) brand has also been named the official charity partner of SailGP, a move aimed at broadening the foundation’s global reach and inspiring young people through sport.
Mbappé on His New Venture
The French World Cup winner expressed his excitement about the collaboration:
“We are excited to be on board with this new adventure with the France SailGP Team, alongside Accor and other investors. I’m also proud that IBKM has the opportunity to engage more young people around the world through this relationship.”
Mbappé emphasized his commitment to youth empowerment, stating:
“Through Inspired By KM, I want to reach out to young people around the world and give them the strength to believe in their dreams. With our ‘We Care for All’ program, we provide concrete support and hope to those who need it most. Together, we are building a future where every young person can write their own story and achieve excellence.”
What is SailGP?
SailGP features 12 national teams racing identical, high-speed 50-foot foiling catamarans in some of the world’s most iconic locations. Founded in 2019 by five-time America’s Cup winner Sir Russell Coutts and Oracle founder Larry Ellison, the league has now become fully privately owned, with Mbappé’s Coalition Capital group joining a consortium of investors.
With Mbappé already chasing La Liga and Champions League glory in his football career, his latest move signals a growing influence in global sports investment.
