A Nigerian lady has caused a stir online after accusing controversial social media critic, Verydarkman, of making a fake bank transfer.
This comes amid the ongoing legal battle between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former record label boss, Eezee Tee, which has seen Verydarkman hit with a ₦1.1 billion lawsuit for alleged defamation.
The Accusation
In a video making rounds online, Verydarkman claimed that he helped an old secondary school friend by sending ₦1 million, showing a WhatsApp chat as evidence of their conversation.
However, sharp-eyed observers pointed out a discrepancy between his claims and the transaction receipt he displayed. While the chat supposedly began on February 3, 2025, the transfer receipt showed that the ₦1 million transaction happened a day earlier, raising doubts about the authenticity of his claim.
Mixed Reactions from Netizens
As expected, the controversy has sparked heated debates online, with fans and critics weighing in:
- Eze Baller joked: “E don leak again 🤣🤣.”
- Mr Common Sense defended him: “I think he may have picked the wrong slip in the video. He just mixed it up.”
- Pesco wrote: “Verydarkman na content creator same with GehGeh.”
- Khalifa criticized the scrutiny: “The time you dey take check people transfer, use am do something useful for yourself.”
- Chef Dera dismissed the claims: “Verydarkman is not in Nigeria, so it’s obviously a case of time difference. Mumu people 🙄.”
As of now, Verydarkman has not addressed the allegations, leaving netizens divided on whether this is a misunderstanding or another controversy surrounding the outspoken critic.
