Lizzy Anjorin, the controversial Nollywood actress, has reignited her feud with popular gospel singer Tope Alabi, accusing her of unprofessionalism after the singer allegedly backed out of a performance at her birthday celebration.
The drama began when Lizzy’s fans reportedly paid ₦4 million for Tope Alabi to make a surprise appearance at the event — a performance that never took place. In a new video circulating online, Lizzy expressed her disappointment, revealing the ₦4 million payment receipt and calling out the gospel singer for not showing up after realizing that Lizzy was the celebrant.
She said, “Aunty Tope, my fans paid you ₦4 million and I have the evidence with me. Even if you were paid ₦500k, were you not an actress before? In acting, we were taught that if you are to kiss your enemy on a movie set, you must do it.”
Lizzy also took the opportunity to remind Tope Alabi of the times she had supported the gospel singer during her controversies, particularly when Tope Alabi fell out with the late Prophet Ajanaku. “When the world rejected you, I stood by you. I even play your songs not because I need them, but to support you,” Lizzy added.
The actress accused Tope of hypocrisy, emphasizing the importance of professionalism in the industry, stating, “You saw the goodness of God in my life when you were outside my place. You called me your sister. No matter how much they paid you, you should not have reacted that way. If you judge me, you are not God.”
This latest clash has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with fans divided on whether Tope Alabi had the right to decline the performance or if she breached professional conduct by not showing up after being paid.
As of now, Tope Alabi has not publicly responded to the renewed accusations.
