MTN Nigeria is set to redefine and revolutionize the entertainment industry in Nigeria with the launch of its Music App.
A source close to the company told GidiPoint that the telecoms giant has perfected plans for the launch expected to hold in July.
“The company is pulling out all the stops for what could turn out to be the biggest thing that would happen in the Nigerian music industry this year,” the source said. The app would be called Music+ and it will be a converged music streaming and download platform, optimized for mobile and online access. It will be socially enabled to accommodate cross-user activity.
The app is available for download in beta testing mode for now, and it is free.
The source added that Music+ will be a round-the-clock exciting way of music streaming, music sharing, play-listing and more especially for Naija music.
GP learnt that an exclusive launch event for the platform is being put together. Some of the company’s music ambassadors will be releasing new hits at the launch, while a prominent MTN music ambassador would do a collaboration with renowned international star, Diana King of the Shy Guy fame on a new single.
