Napoli thrashed Sampdoria 4-0 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and are currently sitting top of the Serie A table after registering an impressive five victories in their first five games in 2021/22.
Luciano Spalletti’s side are, along with Paris Saint-Germain, one of the only two teams across the five major European leagues to have won all their matches so far this season.
After missing out on Champions League qualification last season, Napoli’s five wins in the same number of games is their best start to a campaign since 2017/18 when Maurizio Sarri’s men also grabbed five wins and went on to compete with Juventus for the title until the last game of the campaign.
Against Sampdoria, Napoli were more than convincing and put on a stunning performance, coming out victorious thanks to goals from Fabian Ruiz and Piotr Zielinski, as well as a brace from Victor Osimhen.
Meanwhile, Inter and AC Milan have 13 points each, followed by Atalanta who have mustered 10 points, then come Jose Mourinho’s Roma who have nine points and one game in hand.
