Gary Lineker has hit back at Gary Neville’s claim that Manchester United’s players are tone deaf, after Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were seen in Dubai just days following their Champions League exit. Rashford was ringside in Dubai for a boxing event, whilst Sancho attended a party hosted by singer-songwriter Davido.
Meanwhile, coach Ralf Rangnick was a special guest of the West Indies cricket team, who were playing against England in Barbados.
“I remember a time when United players, managers, executives wouldn’t be seen in their local Italian after a draw at home let alone getting knocked out of Europe,” Neville tweeted.
“This last week we’ve seen a global tour of F1, Concerts, Cricket and UFC events. This lot are Tone Deaf.”

Lineker responds to Neville
Former England international and current BBC presenter Gary Lineker feels Neville’s criticism is unfair.
“True, they were mostly busy getting hammered down the pub without everyone on social media to spy on them,” he wrote.
This started a back-and forth, with Neville saying the events were so high-profile that there was no need for “spying”.
“Do you really think that’s a problem? Going to watch other sports has always been a thing, a positive thing at that,” Lineker retorted.
Neville appears to have had the last say when he posted two tweets, questioning whether it’s a good look for Manchester United.
Would you not adjust your plans if you had suffered a bad defeat as a player to maybe lie low,” tweeted Neville.
“Of course it’s not a problem watching other sports. However, do you think it’s a good look for the Owner (who hasn’t been to Manchester for an age) to be at the F1 and meeting Dubai elite about their sporting ambitions with United’s current situation.”
