Nigerian athlete Blessing Okagbare has been suspended with immediate effect from the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for human growth hormone in a doping control she underwent on July 19.
The 32-year-old sprinter is provisionally suspended under doping regulations, and she is awaiting the final decision on her case.

According to the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), the laboratory analysed Okagbare’s sample and notified the AIU of the results at midnight on Friday.
Won’t compete in the 100m race
Following AIU’s statement, Okagbare will not participate in Saturday’s semi-finals of the women’s 100 metres, for which she qualified on Friday with a time of 11.05 seconds.
