Nigerian singer Portable has stirred up fresh drama in the music industry by branding fellow artist Zlatan Ibile as an “up-and-coming artist.”
Speaking in an interview on Echo Room, Portable argued that Zlatan’s music is not widely recognized among wealthy individuals, which, according to him, makes the rapper a lesser-known act.
Portable’s Claims
The Zaazu crooner revealed that during a past conflict with Zlatan, a rich car dealer friend advised him against engaging with the rapper, stating that Zlatan was “riding on his fame to chase clout.”
“Zlatan is an up-and-coming artist. A man I got a car from told me not to respond to him. He said Zlatan just started, and people like him are using my name for clout.”
Portable also criticized Zlatan’s style of music, claiming it lacks the “call and response” pattern that makes songs enjoyable.
