Queen Nwokoye, the Nollywood actress, has revealed how she coped after losing her brother and both parents within two years.
In a recent interview on Nollywood on Radio, the actress disclosed that the series of losses began just as she was planning to produce her own movie, following the untimely death of her only brother.
Queen revealed that her father passed away just ten months later, and her mother followed five months after that.
The 43-year-old film star disclosed that the emotional toll of the successive losses was immense.
Queen stated that the grief “drained me in every way you can think of, forcing her to put her cinematic aspirations on hold.
She explained that she needed to step back from her career to focus on recovery and rebuilding herself emotionally.
That year it did not work out because I lost my only brother and ten months later, I lost my dad. Five months later, I lost my mum, so it was too much for me. It drained in my every way you can think of. So I had to shelf my aspirations and dreams. I had to go into myself and I came back again, she said.
Queen made her acting debut in 2004 in a film titled ‘Nna Men’ and has started in a plethora of movies.
