Bloomberg noted that Ronaldo’s tax-free deal in Saudi Arabia and endorsement partnerships with global giants like Armani and Nike have played key roles in propelling his fortune.
Earlier this year, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner extended his contract with Al Nassr by two years — a deal reportedly worth over $400 million, keeping him at the Saudi club until after his 42nd birthday.
Despite his age, the Portuguese icon insists retirement isn’t on his mind just yet.
People, especially my family, say: It’s time for you to stop. You’ve done everything. Why do you want to score a thousand goals?’ But I don’t think so, Ronaldo told Canal 11. I’m still producing good things and helping my club and national team. The few years I have left, I’ll enjoy to the fullest.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who holds the men’s all-time international goals record with 141 goals in 223 appearances, recently bagged the Prestige Award at the Portugal Football Globes.
It’s not an end-of-career award, he said. It’s recognition of years of effort, dedication and ambition. Competing with younger players keeps me motivated — I still have a passion for this.
With his fortune now surpassing $1 billion, Bloomberg says Ronaldo stands not only among football’s greatest ever players — but also among its most successful businessmen.
